On the eve of Local Self Governance Day, i.e. 31st August 2010, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Orissa Shri Naveen Patnaik felicitated Shri S. K. Panda, SIO & Sr.T.D, NIC Orissa State Unit at Jayadev Bhawan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, for the contribution of NIC towards Urban Governance.
Among other dignitaries present on the occasion were, Hon’ble Minister of Finance Shri Prafulla Chandra Ghadai, Hon’ble Minister of H & UD Shri Badri Narayan Patra, Hon’ble Minister of W&CD Smt Pramila Mallik, Hon’ble MP Shri Prasanna Patsani, Hon’ble MLAs of Bhubaneswar, Principal Secretary to Govt., H & UD Department, Municipal Administrator etc.
On this occasion Hon’ble C.M inaugurated the online payment for booking of Kalyan Mandap and Payment of Holding Tax. The Online Payment System developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC) Orissa State Centre has been implemented at Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Axis Bank has been integrated to start with.
Now Citizen can book Kalyan Mandap & Pay their Holding Tax from anywhere round the clock over Internet. Citizen Service Centers (CSCs) can also facilitate the citizen for the same. The payment can be done through
Internet Banking, if the citizen has A/C with Axis Bank (without any extra charge)
VISA / Master Card powered by Axis Bank (by paying 2% Transaction charges extra)
Appreciating the effort of NIC, BMC & Axis Bank for enabling such system for the Citizen, Hon’ble Chief Minister informed that other citizen centric services of BMC would be made online and integrated with payment gateway soon.
