National e-Governance Mission Mode project of Immigration, Visa, and Foreigners Registration and Tracking (IVFRT) system has been successfully implemented Mumbai since 2012 with the support of NIC-IVFRT Delhi Team, NIC Maharashtra & Bureau of Immigration, Airport Mumbai . e-Tourist Visa On arrival (e-TVoA) was started on 27.10.2014 at Bureau of Immigration, Airport Mumbai. Since the rollout there is tremendous increase in foreign tourist’s availing this facility.
Recently Visa on Arrival facility for Japanese Nationals has been successfully implemented by Bureau of Immigration & NIC Maharashtra on 01.03.2016 at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport Mumbai. First Passenger arrived on 01.03.2016 at 23:00 hrs and was issued the visa across the counter and given Immigration clearance. The Bureau of Immigration & NIC Maharashtra officials welcomed the passenger across the counter.
