State level workshop on IVFRT project at NIC, Bhubaneswar, Odisha

Recognized as one of the high priority Mission Mode Project of Govt. of India and National Informatics Centre, IVFRT (Immigration Visa Foreigner’s Tracking System) is being under implementation across the Nation and Indian Mission outside the country.
With the objective to develop and implement  a secure and integrated service delivery framework that not only facilitates legitimate travelers coming to India but  has been immense helpful to the administration while strengthening  security.
The State Level Workshop on IVFRT for the State of Odisha was organized on 29th and 30th of January 2014 at NIC, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The main objective of the workshop was to build a major capacity building program for implementation of the project throughout the state. Around seventy (70) participants including DIOs from 30 districts, Superintendent of Police from six (6) pilot districts along with their supporting staffs, Officers from State Home Department and State Intelligence Dep. participated in the two days’ workshop.
The inaugural session started with Lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries on the dais namely, Shri Sunil Roy, IPS, Director of Intelligence & ADG of Police, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Sharma, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Dr. B.N. Shetty, DDG, NIC New Delhi and Shri S. K. Panda, DDG & State Informatics Officer.
In his welcome address, Shri S. K. Panda, DDG & SIO emphasized on optimum use of this two days’ workshop and welcomed all the dignitaries and participants to the event.
Dr. B.N Shetty, DDG, NIC, New Delhi, while expressing his happiness towards readiness of the State for implementation of the project presented the broader aspects of the mission. While sharing his ideas from inception of the project he emphasized on the unique objective of this mission mode Project IVFRT to the participants while ensuring to provide all kind of technical support as and when the State needs for project implementation.
The attraction of the workshop was the spot delivery of first Computer Generated Certificates to two foreign nationals by Shri Nitinjit Singh, IPS, DCP & FRO Bhubaneswar. On his key note address, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Sharma, IPS, Commissioner of Police emphasized the concept of the project and its importance at national level and assured all support for the project.
The detail rollout strategy of the project for the state was explained by Shri Sunil Roy, IPS, Director of Intelligence and ADG of Police. Post lunch technical sessions were carried out jointly by IVFRT team Shri N. S. Rawat, Mr. Arun Shankar and Mr. Vikas Khatri from NIC, New Delhi and Shri Tapan Prakash Ray and  Mrs. Sasmeeta Sabat from NIC, Bhubaneswar till next day.
The two days’ workshop was well managed and coordinated by Mrs. Sasmeeta Sabat, State Coordinator for IVFRT project under the able guidance of Shri S. K. Panda, DDG & State Informatics Officer, NIC, Odisha State Unit. On the closing ceremony vote of thanks was given by Shri Dilip Kumar Jena, TD, NIC, Bhubaneswar to all the participants of the workshop.
