NIC Madhya Pradesh Empowers Record Food Grain Procurement through eUparjan Portal

In a remarkable display of digital governance, the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Madhya Pradesh, has played a pivotal role in supporting the state government’s efforts to procure food grains through its farmer-centric portal, MP eUparjan. The portal has enabled record-breaking procurement during the current Rabi wheat season, providing critical support to lakhs of farmers across the state.

The eUparjan Project, developed by NIC MP, facilitates the systematic procurement of food grains during both Rabi and Kharif seasons, covering key crops such as Wheat, Chana, Sarso, Masoor, Tuar, Soyabean, and Moong. The system ensures transparency, timely payments, and proper documentation at Minimum Support Price (MSP) levels.

Highlights of the 2025 Rabi Season:

  1. Record Wheat Procurement: Approximately 77.7 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) of wheat were procured.
  2. MSP Benefit to Farmers: A total of 14,52,477 farmers benefitted from MSP support.
  3. Timely Payments: Over INR 19,750 crore was disbursed directly into the accounts of approximately 8.79 lakh farmers via the Public Financial Management System (PFMS).
  4. Loan Repayments Facilitated: Interest-free farmer loans worth INR 1,590 crore were repaid to District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs) through the system.

In addition to MSP-based procurement, farmers also successfully sold premium wheat varieties such as Sharbati and Lokwan above MSP rates with the help of eMandi and eAnugya applications—both developed by NIC Madhya Pradesh. These platforms facilitated smoother transactions and gave farmers better market access and price realization.

This digital initiative has significantly contributed to empowering farmers, enhancing procurement efficiency, and promoting transparency in the agriculture sector. NIC MP tech-driven approach continues to strengthen the government’s commitment to farmer welfare and food security in the state.
