In a significant stride towards enhancing digital collaboration and streamlining governmental operations, the National Informatics Centre (NIC) Haryana, in association with the Government of Haryana (GoHR), successfully conducted a one-day workshop on CollabFiles on August 23, 2024. The event took place at Hotel Mountview, Sector 10, Chandigarh, and was aimed at familiarizing state officials and employees with this innovative digital tool designed to optimize file management and collaboration.
The workshop witnessed a robust turnout of over 150 participants from various state departments and was inaugurated by Shri V. Umashankar, PSCM and ACS (CRID), GoHR, who was the Chief Guest, along with Shri Vijayendra Kumar, Principal Secretary YEE, who was the Guest of Honor. The workshop was also attended by Shri I.P.S. Sethi, DDG & HOG CollabFiles, and State Coordinator NIC Haryana. The Chief Guest emphasized the importance of digital tools in improving efficiency and transparency in government operations. The session featured a series of presentations and demonstrations on CollabFiles, eTaal, eOffice, and GovDrive, led by experts from NIC, including Ms. P. Gayatri, HOD CollabFiles, Shri O.P. Gupta, Director (IT), Shri S.K. Patro, Sr. Director (IT), eOffice Team NIC Delhi, and Shri Amit Kumar, Joint Director (IT), NIC Delhi.
The workshop commenced with the felicitation of the guests, followed by the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. In his welcome speech, Shri Deepak Bansal, SIO Haryana, pointed out that this was the first of its kind workshop organized by NIC Haryana for creating awareness among the state government. He introduced many digital tools developed by NIC and their uses in the government sector, such as CollabFiles, eTaal, eOffice, and GovDrive.
Shri I.P.S. Sethi, in his speech, highlighted the use of CollabFiles in the government sector. He emphasized that CollabFiles, a cutting-edge file management and collaboration platform, is designed to facilitate seamless sharing, version control, and real-time collaboration on documents across different departments. The tool aims to address common challenges faced in file management, including security concerns and inefficiencies in document workflows.
During the workshop, participants were introduced to CollabFiles' core features, including secure document sharing and integration capabilities with existing IT infrastructure. Attendees also engaged in interactive sessions where they could ask questions, explore practical applications, and discuss potential use cases specific to their departments.
In his remarks, Shri Vijayendra Kumar, reiterated the commitment of the state government for leveraging technology to drive efficiency and improve service delivery. He encouraged all departments to adopt and integrate CollabFiles into their operations to realize its full potential.
Feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many noting the potential of CollabFiles to enhance their day-to-day operations and foster a more collaborative work environment.
The successful execution of this workshop marks a significant step towards digital transformation in Haryana's government sector, paving the way for more streamlined and effective administrative processes.
