Inauguration of Official Website of SVNIRTAR, Olatpur, Cuttack (Odisha)

Accessible Portal of Swami Vivekanada National Institute of Rehabilitation and Training (SVNIRTAR), Olatpur, Cuttack (Odisha) for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) was inaugurated on Dt-25.08.2014 by SHRI THAAWAR CHAND GEHLOT, Hon’ble Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE), Govt. of India at an open pendal at SVNIRTAR. The inauguration was done in the presence of SHRI SUDARSHAN BHAGAT, Hon’ble Minister of State (MoSJE), Govt of India, Dr. Kulamani Samal, Hon’ble MP, Jagatsinghpur, Ms. Stuti Kacker, IAS, Secretary (MoSJE), Shri Awanish Kumar Awasthi, IAS, Jt. Secretary (MoSJE), Dr. R.N.Mohanty, Director, SVNIRTAR, Dr. R. N. Behera, Sr. Technical Director, NIC, Bhubaneswar.
Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble Minister Mr. Gehlot expressed that this newly designed unique portal developed by NIC will facilitate persons with disabilities (PwDs) to access various developmental activities of the institution and plans and programs of MoJSE. Earlier the Union Minister has inaugurated newly constructed girls hostel, National Rehabilitation training centre and distributed various aids to more than 200 PwDs.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble Minister of State Sri Bhagat and the MP, Jagatsinghpur narrated various welfare activities for SVNIRTAR and expressed that the new website will fulfill the requirements of various PwDs across the country.
Ms. Kacker, Secretary expressed her satisfaction and congratulated NIC and SVNIRTAR for development of this website meant for PwDs. She is on the opinion that Old age persons, colour blindness persons, physically disabled persons can access this portal and visually challenged persons can hear the portal.
Dr. R N Behera, STD demonstrated the features of the portal like about different departments, facilities available, programs and schemes, academic courses available, training, recruitment and other activities of the institution. Sri B. P. Satpathy, PSA, Sri K. C. Pattnaik, PSA and Sri S. K. Sahoo, PSA have helped the demonstration. The team lead by Dr. R N Behera, STD and Sri B. P. Satpathy, PSA have developed the portal under the guidance of Sri S. K. Panda, DDG & SIO, Odisha.
The portal is developed with open source technologies with PHP, PgSql and Drupal as CMS.
