Hindustan Shipyard Ltd. (HSL), Visakhapatnam, a fully owned Government of India undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, has shown its interest to implement GePNIC- the NIC e-Procurement System. HSL is nation’s premier shipbuilding organisation catering to the needs of shipbuilding, ship repairs inclusive of sophisticated and state of art submarine retrofitting and construction of offshore structures.
Initially, NIC had an interaction over VC with HSL authorities. However, on request from HSL, Shri S K Panda, Sr.T.D & SIO, NIC Orissa and Sri A K Hota, TD & Head, e-Procurement Div., NIC Orissa, have visited HSL on 20th May 2011. The presentation on the scope & features of the GePNIC was organized at the conference hall of HSL, attended by Board of Directors & senior officers.
Separate meetings were also conducted with Shri Rakesh Mahajan, Director (Finance), Shri B. Suresh Krishna, ITS, Chief Vigilance Officer, Capt. Vijay Kumar, GM (EKM). They are convinced with the features & functionalities of the product & have sent the request letter to submit the detailed proposal with cost & time line etc.
Shri V. K. Praviraj, DGM (Purchase), HSL, Shri N. Suresh Kumar, DIO, Visakhapatnam, Shri P.V.S.S Gangadhar, DIO Rayagada have coordinated the programme.
