CIL observed its 37th Foundation Day on 1st November 2011 in a Grand Gala Function at the Science City Auditorium, Kolkata. On the occasion Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), Sambalpur, Odisha, the flagship subsidiary company of Coal India Limited has received four prestigious awards.
The unique innovative e-Procurement system of MCL has been awarded the First Prize in the Innovative System Improvement category. The e-Procurement team of MCL comprising of Shri S. K. Bhanja, Shri S. K. Shrivastava, Shri O. P. Mishra and Shri B. Pattanaik received the Awards for their contribution in making this web-based IT solution highly successful in MCL.
Shri Prakash Jaiswal, Hon’ble Union Minister for Coal, graced the occasion and distributed the awards in the gracious presence of Shri Patik Prakash Bapu Patil, Hon’ble Minister of State for Coal, Shri N.C.Jha, Chairman CIL and other dignitaries.
Receiving the Trophy towards the excellence in Corporate Governance, Sri A. N. Sahay, CMD, MCL, highlighted the contribution of NIC in taking up process improvement exercise and uniquely designing the tendering process flow of MCL.
