Chief Secretary Chairs Meeting to Improve Efficiency in Himachal Pradesh Secretariat

A meeting was held by Sh. B.K. Agarwal, Chief Secretary, Himachal Pradesh with all the Branch Officers, Section Officers and Personal Staff of the HP Secretariat in the Conference Hall on 27-April-2019 to discuss the challenges being faced in bringing efficiency in Secretariat Administration. Dr. R.N. Batta, Secretary (Secretariat Administration, GAD, RD, PR), Sh. Manoj Tomar, Additional Secretary (SA, GAD), Sh. Ajay Singh Chahal, SIO NIC HP, Sh. Vijay Kumar Gupta, Technical Director were present.

Sh. B.K. Agarwal, Chief Secretary, Himachal Pradesh stressed that using ICT for improving efficiency is very important and lots of ongoing initiatives need to be monitored at the Branch and Section level. The basic objective is to provide better services to stakeholders, improve quality of work and work in a time bound manner. He informed about the NIC developed software of eOffice (eFile), CM REFNIC-References Monitoring System, CM Announcements, Budget Assurances and Manav Sampada.

A brief demonstration of these software was made by Sh. Ajay Singh Chahal, SIO, NIC HP and Sh. Vijay Kumar Gupta, Technical Director, NIC HP. More than 200 participants were present in the meeting and they raised queries on various aspects of these software which were addressed in the meeting. They were also informed that a task force has been constituted in the HP Secretariat to monitor and address these issues on priority.

Dr. R.N. Batta, Secretary (Secretariat Administration) gave a brief presentation on the various initiatives undertaken in HP Secretariat to improve efficiency in working and employee welfare.

The Chief Secretary, Himachal Pradesh has desired to hold a demonstration of the various features of Manav Sampada software in the next Committee of Secretaries meeting, proposed to be held on 8th May 2019 in HP Secretariat. The NIC HP will make this presentation on the lines of the discussion held.
