Assam Transport Minister appreciates NIC role

Guwahati, February 04, 2020: The Hon’ble Transport Minister of Assam Shri Chandra Mohan Patowary today took a Comprehensive Review on Performance & Infrastructure of District Transport Officers’  at the Assam Administrative Staff College in Guwahati . The review was attended by all the District Transport Officers of Assam and was conducted in the presence of the Commissioner & Secretary, Transport, Shri KK Dwivedi, the Commissioner Transport, Shri Adil Khan and the Transport Project Coordinator of NIC, Shri Rubaiyat-ul Ali.   
The marathon 8-hour long review went into all details of the activities and infrastructure of the District Transport Offices. The Hon’ble Minister was very appreciative of NIC’s pivotal role in digitally transforming the District Transport Offices through comprehensive ICT applications such as Vahan, Sarathi, eChallan, mParivahan, Speed Limiting Device integration, etc. He expressed his happiness at Assam having one of the best ICT-enabled Transport Departments in the Country. He also requested NIC to take up more areas of frontline ICT applications such as IoT, Artificial Intelligence, etc., to facilitate the Department as well as the citizens of Assam.
