Workshop on Digital Governance Solutions conducted in Lakshadweep

A workshop on CollabFiles, eTaal, Gov.in Secure Intranet, and GovDrive was successfully organized at the Multipurpose Hall, Secretariat, Kavaratti, Lakshadweep.Most of these initiatives are done under the visionary leadership of Shri IPS Sethi, DG,NIC, whose strategic guidance and commitment to digital transformation have played a crucial role in revolutionizing eGovernance initiatives across the Nation.

The event, conducted by NIC in collaboration with the Department of IT, Lakshadweep, focused on the impact of digitalization in Government operations, aiming to enhance awareness and adoption of these transformative platforms.

Empowering Governance Through Digitalization

The workshop commenced with an inaugural address by Shri Rahul
Singh, IAS, Secretary, Department of IT, Lakshadweep, who
emphasized the role of Digital India initiatives in revolutionizing
governance. His address underscored the importance of adopting digital platforms for seamless Government operations and data-driven decision-making. Setting the stage for an insightful session, Ms. Beebi C.G., ASIO, Lakshadweep UT, delivered the welcome address, expressing gratitude to the participants and highlighting the significance of digital solutions in enhancing administrative efficiency.

The key address was delivered by Shri V. K. Tyagi, Sr. Director (IT), NIC Delhi and Shri Aditya Bhatt, Director (IT), Lakshadweep who elaborated on the role of CollabFiles, eTaal, Gov.in Secure Intranet, and GovDrive in optimizing Governance through secure, structured, and effective data management.

Expert Insights on Digital Solutions

The workshop featured a series of expert sessions, where senior NIC officials shared in-depth knowledge on Government-centric digital platforms:

Dr. O.P. Gupta, Director (IT), NIC Delhi,presented on eTaal, showcasing its ability to monitor real-time electronic transactions and its significance in policymaking. Additionally, a session on Gov.in Secure Intranet was conducted in collaboration with Shri Ritesh Kumar Dwivedi, Jt. Director (IT), NIC Delhi, emphasizing its role in secure and collaborative workflows.

Shri Ritesh Kumar Dwivedi, Jt. Director (IT), NIC Delhi, conducted special session on CollabFiles, detailing its capabilities in document collaboration and version control.

Shri Amit Kumar, Jt. Director (IT), NIC Delhi, led a session on GovDrive, highlighting its features in secure data storage and compliance with Government data management standards.

Workshop Objectives

The primary objectives of the workshop were:
• To introduce and demonstrate the functionalities of CollabFiles, eTaal, Gov.in Secure Intranet, and GovDrive.
• To promote the adoption of digital workflows for seamless Governance.
• To train Government officials on best practices for utilizing these platforms effectively.

Media & Social Media Impact

The workshop garnered significant attention across digital and media platforms:
• A total of 10 social media posts were published, generating nearly 4,000 Engagements.
• The event was covered PIB (English & Malayalam), Doordarshan Malayalam.

The workshop in Lakshadweep successfully provided a platform for knowledge sharing and capacity building among Government officials, reinforcing the  commitment to Digital India. By integrating these innovative solutions, Government departments can enhance their operational efficiency, ensuring secure, transparent, and streamlined Governance in the digital era.
