On 26th June 2025, the Department of School Education, Government of Chhattisgarh, completed a milestone in citizen-centric digital governance. To accommodate B.Ed.-qualified candidates to the post of Assistant Teacher Science (Laboratory), the department conducted open online counseling — powered by a web application developed by NIC, Raipur, under the G2C initiative.
From 17th June to 26th June 2025, the sprawling campus of Government Education College, Shankar Nagar, Raipur, became the venue of a well-orchestrated digital symphony. Each day, 150 candidates were scheduled in the first shift and another 150 in the second — meticulously planned to serve a total of 2621 aspiring teachers. The counseling not only verified teacher credentials but also ensured transparent school allocation — all through the NIC-developed application.
One of the standout features? The use of QR codes to provide candidates with instant access to details of available schools — blending simplicity with smart design.
By the end of the counseling, 2591 candidates had been successfully allocated schools. Only 30 remained absent, and exactly 30 schools were left unassigned — a rare symmetry that reflected the precision of planning and implementation.
The application — developed under the guidance of Shri T.N. Singh, DDG & SIO, and Shri Harish R. Iyer, Sr. Director (IT) & HOD — earned appreciation from department officials and participating candidates alike. Its success goes beyond numbers — it represents a scalable, reusable platform that will soon serve future counseling drives for principals and lecturers as well.
At a glance:
1. Total Candidates Registered: 2621
2. Total Candidates Present: 2591
3. Total Candidates Absent: 30
4. Total Schools Available: 2621
5. Total Schools Allotted: 2591
6. Remaining Vacant Schools: 30
In a time where trust in public processes depends on transparency and technology, this initiative stands as a model — quiet in its execution, impactful in its outcome.
