In a significant move to strengthen rural service delivery, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated Atal Suvidha Kendras in 1,460 Gram Panchayats during a state-level event marking National Panchayati Raj Day in Raipur on April 24, 2025. The programme was held virtually and saw direct interaction with citizens from across the state. NIC Chhattisgarh facilitated the video conferencing and provided end-to-end technical support to ensure smooth coordination across locations.
The Chief Minister announced plans to expand the initiative to 8,000 more panchayats within six months, aiming for full state-wide coverage. “Our mothers and sisters will no longer need to travel far. Essential services will now be available within the village,” he said.
The Suvidha Kendras will function as one-stop centres for banking, government, and utility services, promoting digital governance and reducing rural-urban service gaps.
Addressing water scarcity concerns, CM Sai also launched the ‘Mor Gaanv, Mor Pani’ campaign, focused on rainwater conservation and groundwater recharge at the panchayat level.
He further highlighted the simultaneous conduct of Panchayat and Municipal Corporation elections as a time-saving reform aligned with the national vision of ‘One Nation, One Election.’
From Madhubani, Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation, announcing infrastructure projects worth thousands of crores and reinforcing the government's commitment to strengthening Panchayati Raj institutions.
The day’s events underscored a unified Centre–State focus on empowering villages through digital inclusion, grassroots democracy, and sustainable development.
