NIC-Haryana State Centre received the CSI SIG e-Governance Awards for NICMeet (Desktop Video Conferencing Solution) under Central Government Project Category on 23rd April 2022 as part of the 19th CSI SIG e-Governance award 2021 at MNNIT, Allahabad, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

 

NICMeet (Desktop Video Conferencing Solution) – Award of Recognition

NICMeet is based on open source VC Solution having all features of a commercial VC Application like Inviting others to join room, Joining others Room, Scheduling a VC, Recording a VC, Inviting guest to join VC etc. It delivers a good quality video streaming, sound and can accommodate up to 100 participants in a single VC with a very small infrastructure.  

 

Being an in house product hosted in NIC Domain nullifies the security and leakage of data unlike other proprietary VC Solutions. It is completely secure, scalable and easy to use solution.

 

NICMeet is developed by NIC Haryana team comprising Shri Bidyut Ranjan Gohain, Scientist-F, Shri Pardeep Kumar Kaushal, Scientist-F, Shri Sumit Garg, Scientist-B, Shri Sanjeev Kumar, Scientist-B and Shri Kuldeep, Scientific Officer-SB under the able and dynamic guidance of Sh. Deepak Bansal, SIO & DDG, NIC, Haryana.

 

Below are some key highlights about NICMeet:-

  • NICMeet is an open source based Video Conferencing platform developed inhouse by National Informatics Center, Haryana State Unit which provides the facility of Web Meetings, Collaborative Document Editing, Online Chat, Meeting Recordings, Attendance and many more facilities through a secure channel which can be enabled for End to End Encryption by choice of the meeting moderators.

  • The Platform is scalable and uses the latest technologies to withstand the day to day demand of the Video Conferencing service and of course the services are free of cost for its users.

  • The platform is agile by its architecture thus catering the change requirements easily. The NICMeet is already integrated with TeleMedicine, eHospital, Work From AnyWhere (WaW) Portals. The integration is plug and play model based which shows the flexibility of the platform.

  • NICMeet is a major step taken to make India “Atmanirbhara” in terms of VC Solution as it is first of its kind project which is developed by the Government for virtual communications and indeed in the future NICMeet will be proven as one of the strongest pillar for the Government Communications.
