MeitY Unveils Digital Brand Identity Manual to Standardize Government's Online Presence

Informatics News Desk, New Delhi

Honorable Minister of State for Information Technology, Shri Jitin Prasada launching Digital Identity Manual during first CIO Conference

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) hosted the inaugural Chief Information Officer (CIO) Conference 2025 on February 18, 2025, in New Delhi. A highlight of the event was the unveiling of the Digital Brand Identity Manual (DBIM), a strategic initiative aimed at standardizing the digital presence of government entities across India.

Key Components of the DBIM

The DBIM provides a comprehensive framework to ensure a unified digital identity for government platforms. Its key components include:

  • Gov.In Content Management System (CMS) Platform: This platform streamlines website management, ensuring consistency and efficiency across government portals.

  • Central Content Publishing System (CCPS): A centralized system for content governance, making key government policies, schemes, and initiatives readily available to the public, thereby improving transparency and engagement.

  • Social Media Campaign Guidelines: Established to standardize digital communication, these guidelines ensure coherent and effective messaging across various social media platforms.

During the conference, the DBIM-compliant MeitY website was unveiled, demonstrating a consistent and citizen-friendly digital experience. Additionally, websites of five other ministries, including the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, have been revamped following the new guidelines to provide a more standardized and user-friendly experience.

The nationwide adoption of the DBIM is set to revolutionize citizen engagement, strengthen trust, and enhance government service delivery in the digital space. This initiative underscores the government commitment to leveraging technology for effective governance and aligns with the broader vision of a digitally empowered India.
