Hon'ble Minister addressing in Inaugural Function

Bilingual website of Bhadrak District (Secure, Scalable and Sugamya Website as a Service) was inaugurated by Sri Prafulla Samal, Hon’ble Minister, SSEPD, W&CD, MS&ME, Odisha on 10th May, 2018 in the august presence of Sri Niten Chandra, IAS, Principal Secretary, SSEPD, Smt. Pratibha Singh, State Informatics Officer (SIO), NIC, Odisha, Sri Gyana Das, IAS, Collector & DM, Bhadrak, and other dignitaries from District Administration and NIC.

The website has been developed in SWaaS platform under the guidance of SWaaS Team, NIC, Head Quarters, New Delhi.

At the outset, welcoming all dignitaries, media officials & the Officials of the District Administration present on the occasion, Sri Bijoya Kumar Mishra, District Informatics Officer, NIC, Bhadrak mentioned that Bhadrak District is second District of Odisha for formally lunching the Bilingual Website of the District in the State. This will facilitate the citizens to explore the website in Odia Language.

Collector & District Magistrate, Sri Gyana Ranjan Das, IAS, elaborately explained the purpose of the Bilingual Website and mentioned that the common people who do not know English can explore the Information and function of various schemes of Government of Odisha and Government of India.

Smt. Prativa Singh, State Informatics Officer, Odisha in her introductory address, informed that NIC has designed, developed & hosted a comprehensive, generic and configurable Website as a service platform, which is an online tool to customise the website in regional Language. The portal takes care of all accessibility criteria so that colour blind or full blind people can also access the site using screen reader software. She expressed her gratitude to Swaas Team of NIC, Head Quarters for their kind guidance and cooperation with the DIOs/ADIOs of the Districts.

Inaugurating the Bilingual District Website, Sri Prafulla Samal, Hon’ble Minister, SSEPD, W&CD, MS&ME, Odisha, inform that details of various Schemes, Projects and Information of Citizen Centric services being imparted by the Government of Odisha would be available in the District website and the people may know everything in their own language. Appreciating the effort put in by whole team of NIC starting from District, State to SWaaS Team of NIC, Head Quarters, Hon’ble Minister wished that the website would certainly prove to be an effective tool for dissemination of Information for better governance.

Offering Vote of Thanks to all dignitaries, Sri Shyamabhakta Mishra, OAS(S), Addl. District Magistrate, Bhadrak, informed that the website is now live and citizen can avail the information in Odia language and expressed that district portal team would periodically update the content to provide latest information through this website.

Other dignitaries present in the occasion include Mr. Samsad Ahemad Khan, Addl. State Informatics Officer, NIC, Odisha and senior officials of Collectorate, Bhadrak and Media team.
