On 12 October 2022, the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the SAACAR (Single Window Application Atrocity Compensation Assistance & Relief) portal in a bid to provide an end-to-end solution for processing SC-ST Atrocity Cases registered in various police stations across the State during a state-level function in Bhubaneswar.
Launching the portal, the Hon'ble CM said that the portal will facilitate faster investigation and payment of compensation to the victims in SC-ST atrocity cases within a period of 21 days. He added that this portal will increase the efficiency and avoid the delay caused by the existing manual system of inquiry and payment of compensation to the victims. He also stated that this portal will bring a huge solace to the victims of atrocities belonging to the SC-ST community.
The event was attended by Shri Prafulla Mallik, Hon'ble Minister of Revenue & Disaster Management; Shri Jagannath Saraka, Hon'ble Minister of SC/ST Welfare; and Shri Tusharkanti Behera, Hon’ble Minister of State for Sports and Youth Services along with Shri Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, Chief Secretary (CS); Shri Sanjeev Chopra, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Home; Shri Satyabrata Sahu, ACS Revenue & Disaster Management; Shri Sunil Kumar Bansal, Director General of Police (DGP), Odisha and other State Government Senior officials.
