eStepin : Online Token booking for Registration Offices, Maharashtra.
 
Adieu to queues, property registration is just a click away, Endeavouring to add speed and transparency to land records/ property registration, the State Stamps and Registration Department has put in place, eStepIn, a computerised time slot booking system. Now Citizens can book online time slots for registering documents 60 days in advance. The online citizen centric system not only helps citizens to get prior bookings without waiting in serpentine queues, it has also reduced the crowd at registration offices.
 
 
eStepin Success Story in Maharashtra– Source Indian Express Dated19 Aug. 2010 - The online booking services for property transactions have been receiving a good response with the city recording nearly 35,000 online bookings since November last year.

 The department also handles Mumbai and Thane circles and the office has seen 48,156 online bookings from Mumbai and 10,768 from Thane.
 “Since its initiation on November 19, Pune has seen as many as 34,774 bookings for property registrations at 20 sub-registrar offices. Citizens book online, take a print out of the receipt and go to the sub-registrar office that helps them to get their work done in 15 minutes,” said a senior officer from the inspector general of registration and stamps department.
Thumbs-up from citizens 
Ankit Chowgule, who used the facility, said that it took him only 15 minutes to get his property documents registrations. “I had asked for a slot at 10 am and I had to just show the officer the receipt and was immediately attended to.”
Mahua Ganguly, who has accessed this facility, said it helps one get speedy service. “It is a good initiative by the state government as it keeps the agents at bay.”
Sanket Chaudhary, an IT professional who got his property registered from Kondwa sub-registrar office, said the online facility also confirms the time slot for the registration via email. The office also sends an email if there is a change in the booking schedule.
