On the occasion of Vigilance Awareness week, Hindustan Shipyard Limited, Vizag (A Govt. of India undertaking under the Ministry of Defence) had requested NIC to deliver a talk on the topic 'Combating Corruption - Technology as an Enabler'. Shri Tapan Prakash Ray, Technical Director, NIC Odisha, member of e-Procurement core team, delivered the talk on the occasion on 30th October 2014 at HSL Vizag.
The talk was well received by the audience and focused primarily on how effective use of technology, especially ICT tools can reduce the scope of corruption in an organisation. The role of NIC’s product GePNIC bringing in transparency and efficiency in the tendering process was emphasised.
Chairman cum Managing Director Rear Admiral IN (Retd.) N. K. Mishra, Director Ship Building Cmde KS Subramanian, Director Strategic Project Cmde Ashok Bhal & CVO Shri T. V. Reddy, IFS were present on the occasion.
The Chief Guest was Shri V.Balamohan Das, former VC Acharya Nagarjuna University, who spoke on the subject corruption at length. The function was attended by a large no of HSL officers.
Shri Ray was presented with a memento by the Chairman cum Managing Director, HSL on the occasion.
