A one day workshop on Works MIS software of the Himachal Pradesh Irrigation and Public Health Department officers and officials was held at Shimla on 3rd May 2017. The objective of the workshop was to sensitize and create awareness among the Departmental officials towards complete paper-less implementation of the software solution for the HP IPH Department. About 85 participants of different offices of Shimla IPH Zone attended the Workshop in the Jal Bhawan, Kasumpati, Shimla.
Ms. Anuradha Thakur, Principal Secretary of the IPH Department is closely monitoring the progress of implementation of the Works MIS software and taking personal interest to ensure its proper utilization in all the IPH offices in the State.
The Workshop has been organised jointly by the HP IPH Department and NIC, as part of the roll-out plan of Work MIS or eIPH software in all Divisions of the Department by the year-end. The World Bank is doing the funding for these Workshops under the Capacity Building Programme, of which Works MIS or Contract Management System is one of the components. Three more workshops have been planned at the other 3 Zones of Hamirpur, Dharamshala and Mandi during the month. The idea is to train and re-train every employee of the Department so that the switch-over from manual to the ICT based system takes place.
Sh. R.K. Jaryan, Chief Engineer, P and I, Shimla welcomed the participants and urged them to adopt the system in its true form so that paper based reporting is stopped. Sh. Sanjay Thakur, PSA, NIC, HP State Centre, Shimla gave an overview and demonstration of the various modules in Works MIS web application. He briefed them about the process of making online account for Sub-Divisions and Divisions, generate online water bills for the citizens, create online inventory of various items in the various Divisional stores and linkage of Works MIS with the e-Procurement software.
In the afternoon session, Sh. Sanjay Kumar, Group Head, NIC, HP State Centre, presented and demonstrated the new features of Manav Sampada web application. He briefed the participants about the various processes of making e-service book entries, Pension benefits, office hierarchy, creation of user ids and roles, submitting an ACR online, submitting property returns online, etc. The NIC officials addressed the various queries raised by the user IPH officials related to Manav Sampada and Works MIS web applications.
The closing session of the workshop was addressed by Er. R.K. Jaryan, Chief Engineer. He urged the participants to switch to the online modules of Works MIS to bring efficiency and transparency in working at various levels of the Department. He lauded the role of NIC, HP State for developing the software solutions and providing continuous technical support to the Department.
