The eCounseling portal for mid-term admissions in various engineering and non-engineering courses in government as well as private ITIs (Industrial Training Institutes) for the year 2014 in Punjab was Launched by Sh. M.M. Mittal, Minister of Technical Education , Punjab on 18th December, 2013 in an auspicious ceremony held at Takniki Bhawan, Chandigarh. This is for the first time that the admissions for ITI courses in Punjab are being done online.
The launch ceremony was attended by Sh. A.R. Talwar, IAS Principal Secretary (Technical Education) , Sh. B. Purusharatha, IAS, Director, Technical Education and Industrial Trainings along with other officers of Department of Technical Education and Industrial Training (DTE) and Punjab State Technical Board of Education (PSBTE).Sh.Vikram Jeet Grover SrTD, Sh. Gurdev Singh PSA, and Sh. Sanjay Puri SSA, from NIC Punjab, involved in this venture, were also present. NIC team explained the details and functionalities of the portal to the minister. Director, DTE in his address explained benefits of the portal to the Candidates such transparent system, avoidance of travelling, availability of information of number of seats of a trade in a particular Institution etc. The minister appreciated the efforts and congratulated the stakeholders involved in this pioneer work.
