N.K Prasad, Thiruvananthapuram

Inauguration of the Workshop

A workshop on C-Form Online Submission under IVFRT-MMP was organized by FRRO Thiruvanathapuram at Govt. Guest House, Varkala on 11th September 2013. The participants included hoteliers, home stay providers, authorised spas and ayurvedic centre owners.

Sh. K. K. Jayamohan, FRRO Thiruvananthapuram while inaugurating the workshop explained the mandatory requirement of online submission of C Form for foreigners as per the Govt. of India notification and BoI directions. He assured that by online submitting of C-form on detail stay of foreigners by Hoteliers or approved home stay providers fulfil the statutory requirements as per the gazette notification. NIC IVFRT team consisting of Sh. T. R. Vinod Kumar, Sh. N. Hari Kumar and Sh. A. G. Pradeep Singh demonstrated video presentations on IVFRT project, online registration procedure for C-Form submission and the approval process of access to the online system. In the post tea session, online data entry of C-form and report generation was also explained to the participants with the help of video inputs.

In Kerala State, Immigration, Visa, Foreigner’s Registration and Tracking Project (IVFRT) has been successfully implemented at all FRROs (3) and FROs (12). Awareness creation and Sensitization programmes are currently being conducted for C-Form (Foreign Traveller's Hotel stay information submission online) and S-Form (Students of foreign origin information submission online) all over Kerala as a successful implementation strategy.

Varkala is a favourite foreigner’s destination and religious pilgrim place in Thiruvananthapuram District. This is the only place in southern Kerala where cliffs are found adjacent to the Arabian Sea. These tertiary sedimentary formation cliffs are a unique geological feature on the flat Kerala coast. There are lot of hotels and spas near this cliff formation, which makes it an ideal spot for traveller's from various parts of the world.

The workshop ended with hearty vote of thanks to all.
