Guwahati, March 26, 2021: The Assam Police has become the second State Force in the Country to have automated and randomized its deployment for elections with the commissioning of the NIC-developed online Force Deployment Software for the first phase of the ensuing Legislative Assembly elections in Assam.

In recognition of the work done by NIC Assam in the fight against Covd-19, the Government of Assam presented the certificate of appreciation in a ceremony on 20th February 2021 at Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) Auditorium. Honourable Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Finance, PWD etc, Dr.Himanta Biswa Sarma, presented the Certificate to the NIC team of Smt.Suchitra Pyarelal,SIO Assam, Smt.Naina Begum, HoD VC Division, Sh.Rahul Deka, Scientist C and Sh. Gautam Dev Sarma, Scientist B.

For the first time, the Pension & Public Grievances Department, Govt. of Assam, after discussion with NIC, has held a Pension Adalat through Video Conferencing mode on 24th February 2021 from 10.00 A.M. to 4.00 P.M.

Dr. Neeta Verma, Director General, NIC highlighted the innovative use of Artificial Intelligence and some of its prominent applications in e-Gov solutions and services during a session on “AI for All – Partnerships for Making AI Accessible & driving Innovation” at the RAISE 2020 Virtual Summit on 08th October 2020.
Guwahati, October 01, 2020: In a very thoughtful step to simplify and facilitate pension disbursement to retired employees, Hon’ble Assam Chief Minister of Assam Shri Sarbananda Sonowal flagged off the pilot implementation of the National Informatics Centre (NIC)-developed Online Pension Sanction and Payment Tracking System christened Kritagyata on October 01, 2020. Kritagyata is the customized version of ‘Bhavishya’, the product developed by NIC for the Dept of Pension & Pensioners Welfare, GoI.
To commemorate five years of the Digital India Programme, an online conference “Digital Bharat Aatmanirbhar Bharat” has been organised on 1st July 2020 by the Ministry of Electronics & IT. The conference highlighted Digital India’s 5 year journey so far and new initiatives and focus areas were discussed by stalwarts of Digital India programme.
A keynote address on “Digital Transformation in Times of Pandemic” was delivered by Dr. Neeta Verma, Director General, NIC at the National Governance Virtual Summit held on 19th June 2020, hosted by ETGoverment. It is a one-stop platform for key government officials, industry, and academia to discuss how to continue the public services in the time of the pandemic.
National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS) is a cloud-based application developed by NIC for registering land documents digitally. The launch of NGDRS for the Government of Jammu and Kashmir was held on 15th June 2020.
The new version of Covid Suraksha 2.0 with geo-fencing technology was launched by Sh.Himanta Biswa Sarma, Honble Minister of Health and Finance on 6th June 2020 in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Jorhat and other Senior functionaries. The app was functioning in many districts from April with monitoring of the quarantine people by the Health workers module. The following new features were added based on the request from Deputy Commissioner Jorhat.
